Fab & Fru Bachelorette Party Ideas!

One of the most fun bachelorettes I ever went to was a night in, rather than a night on the town!  We all showed up in pajamas, busted out the Queen Helene Mint Masque (I think it is about $2.99 a tube) and beautified, gossiped, hung out and ate crappy food. What could be better, you ask?  Depending on your crowd, it can only make the evening more fun to put on a chick flick – I think we watched the surfer classic Blue Crush – and laugh the night away together! Even though we all actually went home at the end of the evening, it was just as much fun as the sleepover parties of yesteryear!

Another great idea if you have a small group is to gather at one person’s home for a cooking class.  If everyone chips in it is usually quite Fab & Fru to get a chef come and teach you how to make a meal – be sure to choose a menu that includes favorites of the bride and groom!  At the end of the class, the chef can hightail it home and you and your friends can relax with the delish dinner you have made together.  It’s a nice touch to have the Bachelorette recipes typed up and put into a pretty folder with a handwritten note signed by all the friends – talk about comfort food!

Roadtrips: What a great bonding experience!  Sure, you’re headed towards a destination – but the journey is what really matters.  If you don’t own a car, then renting a car is your best bet for frugality. Even a 7 passenger Ford Explorer from Hertz split 6 ways (the bride pays for nothing, remember) will end up being just over $45 each, add an additional $5 from everyone for gas coming back. So that’s $50 for transportation.

Now for food and drink. You will need to factor in: snacks for the trip ($10 max per head), booze (depends what everyone is willing to donate; look into BYOB restaurants near your destination or on the way to save some on those restaurant premiums), and meals. This last one will be one of your biggest expenses. Keep it destination appropriate. You can opt for a picnic, a good local restaurant or prepare a big dinner, but bottom line is it should be what the bride wants!

Picking your destination is key so the two things to keep in mind are: what your bride enjoys and what’s near enough to drive to. Check out Travelocity’s 25 Best Local Secretswww.travelocity.com/localsecrets for ideas or look up your area’s tourist bureau to find cool places you never heard of, cute inns, a gambling city, or whatever strikes your bride’s fancy.

Overall it will probably cost less than you would spend buying dirty party games, penis pastas, and going to an S&M club that nobody is comfortable at anyway! Instead of a “typical” bachelorette party, you’ll have a shared experience and a really fun weekend.

These are such great ideas! I’ve been to a few bachelorette parties that cost tons of money so I definitely appreciate a bride who doesn’t force her bridal party to spend too much. My sister owns a bachelorette party supply website (http://www.thehouseofbachelorette.com/) and prides herself on offering great products at really low prices! She’s also got FREE games you can download which is another way to keep costs low while having a great time! Party on!

Any Thoughts?
