Become Aware of Your Thinking & Write it Down

Take the time to recognize YOUR actual thought process when you are facing financial stress or even if you are fortunate enough to find a five dollar bill in the street! Although they are quite different reactions, try writing down your exact inner dialogue without editing a word.
For example, “OMG, I can’t pay my mortgage this month.” Or, “I can’t wait to enjoy that double cappuccino I’m going to treat myself to with my $5 bucks!”
Yes, the situations are different. However, one statement is coming from a paralyzed state of fear, while the second is a positive intention of action. See where am I going with this?
Lynn Grabhorn would say, instead of focusing on the fear of not being able to pay your mortgage, think about something that you FEEL good about, and channel that positive feeling into an active thought like: “My mortgage is paid in full, and I am enjoying a night on the town with my friends”.
Now this doesn’t mean just by changing your thought process that you can now kick back and do nothing! There is a difference between throwing a positive intention into the universe and being irresponsible. But there is something to be said about becoming aware of how you really think about a situation so you are not unknowingly perpetuating your anxiety and making matters worse. Because if likes attract likes, is it really worth purposefully attracting negative energy from the universe?
Of course, we’re only human, and it’s difficult to be positive all of the time. But I think it’s much more Fab & Fru to try and look on the bright side of the street – there may just be a five dollar bill waiting for you to find it!

I suggest also looking at Doreen Banaszak’s website. She wrote the follow-up book to Lynn Grabhorn’s book called, Excuse Me, Your Life is Now. But she has since taken it way beyond thoughts and feelings. She suggests that it is your state of being that creates and your thoughts and feelings only direct you to your state of being. So, if you are freaking out about not being able to pay your mortgage, and you acknowledge that but just start to recite an affirmation about it being paid but really, inside, your state of being is doubt or fear, you will expand the doubt or fear, not the confidence that your mortgage is paid. So, Doreen has expanded on even her own book to using Acceptance as the key to expanding what you want. She offers a FREE message and download on her website with a much better explanation than I have given. I’ve been using Acceptance work for over a year and I’m finding more peace and acceptance in my life.
Thanks Barbara! I checked out Doreen’s site, and her Acceptance approach is definitely worth a read. Here’s the link for those who are interested in exploring more http://www.your-life-is-now.com.
