5. Lip color extender You hate reapplying color to your lips a million times throughout the day, right? Some department and drug stores try to push separate lip products that help the color stick longer (and many of them cost more than the color itself). Forget the specialty junk and apply a thin layer of powder or foundation to your lips first. The gloss or lipstick color will last much longer, and so will your money!
6. Oooo, Witchy Woman One of the best ways to gently cleanse away your makeup is that old school fave, Witch Hazel. You can buy it at the grocery store for cheap and strip off the day with a cotton ball. Added bonus: It also helps to prevent blemishes, so you can save on costly acne medicines too!
7. Make Your Makeup Do Double Duty If your budget is tight but you need both moisturizer and foundation, go for a tinted moisturizer and kill two birds with one stone. You can even splurge on an upscale brand with the money you’ll save by combining the two steps. Also, use blush or bronzer for an eye color boost if you’re low on shadow.
Ladies, you know we’d never advise sacrificing your face in the name of frugal living! Just know that many of the salon and department store products can easily be replicated (or eliminated) at home. We hope these seven secrets will keep you looking both bold and beautiful…on a budget!
