Put A Cork In It?!

Every year Hilary hosts a huge Thanksgiving dinner for family and friends - it’s her favorite holiday, and she really goes all out! Her cousin Jamie always offers to bring wine.  The problem is, the only wine Jaime buys is the ’2 Buck Chuck’ from Trader Joe’s.  Granted, Jaime comes with quite a few bottles of it, but Hilary thinks the wine tastes as cheap as it costs.

Hilary would rather have Jamie just spend more on one bottle of good wine than on ten bottles of something undrinkable, but Hilary is totally uncomfortable telling Jaime how she feels!  On the one hand, she is the host, and feels she should have a say in what is being served.  On the other hand, it is nice of Jamie to offer to bring something — and maybe she should just let the whole thing go?

Is it ok for Hilary to ask Jamie to stop bringing such cheap wine to Thanksgiving dinner — or should she just put a cork in it?!  Tell us what you think!

Ask her to bring something else, like dessert or a salad. I think it would be awkward to ask her to bring a better wine. Change it up and and have her bring something different.

Any Thoughts?
