Fashion Week Looks For Less

Recreate the Runway!

From Clavin Klein’s luxe leather dresses to Dolce and Gabana’s Baroque inspired print extravaganza, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has the city that never sleeps buzzing with the latest in fall fashion.  Even though the weather is getting cooler, top designers take this time of year to unveil their HOTTEST new looks.  Luckily, Fab & Fru has been following Fashion Week’s trends, and we’ve got the skinny on how YOU can get the look for less!

Winter Whites

Remember when wearing white after Labor Day was a fashion faux pas?  Well this year “white as snow” is a total go!  Peter Som, Alexander Wang and Derek Lam all had their models draped in white wool, silk, cashmere and cotton this Fashion Week.

A basic way to break into this trend is to opt for a classic white button down or a light weight off-white cardigan.  Not only are these pieces timeless, they are both versatile enough to transition through the seasons with layering, and comfortable enough to take you from running meetings in the board room to wrangling rugrats in the play room!

Sultry Slit Skirts

A transitional season means weather wiggle room – which is why we love that slit skirts are so in right now!  Sexy slits were seen on the runways of Rachel Zoe and Rodarte, but you can get the look for less from Top Shop.  Check out the beautiful Slit Front Maxi Dress!  Accessorize to taste and you’ve got an ensemble perfect for a night on the town – originally $100, now on sale for only $60!

Glitz, Glam & Gold

Ralph Lauren, Marchesa and Oscar de la Renta kept the Olympic spirit alive daring to make bold statements with GOLD.  If you’re looking to turn heads, check out this gorgeous gold Collection Lucille dress in cheetah brocade from J. Crew.  At $395 this detailed classically cut cocktail dress is well worth the investment!
