When Is It Too Late To Bail?

Three months ago Rachel, Tanya, Georgi, Kim and their husbands planned an end of season – kid free – ski weekend in Vermont.  All close friends from college, the four couples rented a super cute four bedroom house near the mountains where they could relax, cook, drink wine and laugh about old times.  Georgi and Dan fronted the rental fee back in January, and everyone agreed to split the costs equally.  But a week before the trip, Kim announced that her hubby Charlie had something come up at work, and that neither of them were going to be able to make it to the reunion.

While everyone was totally bummed that the couple wouldn’t be joining the party, there was also the matter of their share of the house…  Should Kim and Charlie be expected to pay the $300 for their room anyway? Or should the rest of the group absorb their cost?

unfortunately things do come up. But it’s still your responsibility to pay for the trip. What you can do is try to find someone to fill your spot but if you or they can’t your obligated to pay for the trip. More importantly your friendship may be on the line if you don’t pay for it.

Any Thoughts?
